Your First Appointment

At Groy Family Dentistry we strive to make your initial experience with our team personable, informative and pleasant.  We are a family dental practice with the skills and experience that allow us to provide a variety of comprehensive dental services.

At your initial visit, which will be approximately an hour, you will be seen by the dentist and undergo a thorough examination which will include a review of your medical and dental history, an oral cancer screening, an evaluation of your restorative needs, a check for periodontal disease and an assessment of any bite abnormalities.   If current x-rays are not available, we will recommend taking digital images which may include bite-wings, a full series, or a Panorex.

You will have a cleaning by one of our competent, gentle dental hygienists who will also provide you with oral care instructions to help you maximize your dental health. 

After the evaluation and cleaning, the dentist will discuss any recommendations and treatment options.

It is imperative that a child’s first visit to the dentist be fun!  We will strive to provide them with the same services as an adult, but we realize that the visit needs to be tailored to each unique child. Sometimes a first experience may just be a ride in the chair, meeting Mr. Thirsty and getting a rooster balloon.

If you are a new patient with discomfort, pain, swelling, or trauma, we will address the need on that particular day.

Insurance and Financial Information

The cost of your dental treatment will vary based on your individual treatment plan. Our office is always willing to discuss in-depth the cost associated with your treatment and each of your available payment options before your begin.

Insurance

We are an insurance friendly office, and as a courtesy and convenience to you we will file insurance claims on your behalf so that you receive maximum benefits from your insurance carrier.  Please remember that insurance benefits are determined by the type of plan chosen by your employer.

We are an in-network provider for Delta Dental and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. If you have a different insurance plan, you may find that your policy will cover all or a significant amount of your treatment costs.  Our staff is available to discuss your individual plan’s benefits.

Financing Options  

In order to make your treatment costs more affordable and eliminate the worry of saving up for procedures you need or want, we offer delayed payment options.  Please never hesitate to talk to our staff about special financial accommodations. 

Emergencies

If you experience a dental emergency, don’t hesitate to call us right away (703-777-5600)! We offer 24 hour emergency care. If it is after hours, our answering machine will provide you with a home phone number so that you can quickly get in touch with the doctor. 

Cancellation Policy

As a courtesy to our patients, we confirm all appointments in advance. There may be an occasion when you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment. If you find yourself in this situation, we request that you notify our office 24 hours in advance.
