Delta Dental Insurance Leesburg

The Home of Your Delta Dental Dentist

Downtown Family Dental of Leesburg is pleased to be a provider with Delta Dental, the largest dental benefits carrier in the United States. As a Delta Dental in-network dental office, we offer a number of services at fixed fees according to your dental plan. If you have a Delta Dental Premier® plan, our front dental office staff will submit a claim after your visit and will not bill you more than the approved amount. These fees have been pre-negotiated between our dental office and Delta Dental. Once you’ve satisfied your deductible and we receive your copayment at the time of service, you have nothing more to pay. If you have a Delta Dental PPO ® plan, your copay would be based on the pre-negotiated fees for a Delta Dental Premier® plan. After payment of this copay, you will have nothing more to pay.

Dental Insurance Glossary of Terms

Although dental insurance plans may differ in detail, there are some basics that apply to nearly all of them. Our dental office will be glad to help you understand the details of your Delta Dental insurance, but here are some fundamentals.

Deductible

This is the amount of money you must pay out-of-pocket for dental care before your Delta Dental benefits plan will begin to cover the cost of your dental treatment.

Maximum

This is the top dollar amount your dental plan will pay for dentistry within a specified period. Your Delta Dental insurance plan likely runs from January 1 through December 31 of any given year. If you reach the maximum before year-end, then you will be responsible for paying for any necessary treatment during the remaining benefit period.

Copayment

This constitutes your out-of-pocket expense for a covered dental service after you’ve reached your deductible. The amount of the copayment may vary depending on the type of dental procedure you receive.

Reimbursement Levels

Your Delta Dental insurance benefits plan offers different levels of coverage for different categories of service. For example, preventive dentistry such as dental cleanings and examinations is often covered at 80 to 100 percent. Delta Dental covers preventive dentistry at this high rate to encourage subscribers to get regular checkups to avoid more extensive and expensive procedures.
